Discovering works of art
Stories, both those we tell and those we invent, are an excellent way to develop young children’s imagination and language skills. And works of art are an excellent starting point! In “Tell the story” activities, children observe a work of art and tell the story based on what they see.
In the “Tell the story” activity, children must observe a work of art and understand the story it tells. Then they do one or more activities related to the work of art. They learn and have fun at the same time!
The first book in the “Tell the story” series presents Le repas de noce by Pieter Bruegel.
This book contains a reproduction of the artwork, information about it and its creator, two activities, and five sheets of cut-out drawings.
This book is included in the “L’art raconté aux enfants” collection. As an art historian, I am dedicated to introducing children to art, fostering an appreciation for it and encouraging creative exploration.
