Inside-Outside Circle Conversation Cards
Inside-outside circle is an excellent activity to encourage students to improve their social skills through structured conversation. They have an opportunity to share and discuss different topics with multiple partners. The conversation cards help them maintaining conversation by asking and answering questions and making comments.
During this activity, students form two different circles: half of the group stands in a circle facing outward while the other half forms a circle around them facing inward. Students ask and answer question, make comments on a certain topic until the teacher signals the outer circle to move in one direction. On the teacher’s signal, the students take one step to their left in the outside circle and have another quick discussion with their new partner. The students now have a different partner with whom to exchange!
