This modals game’s sole purpose is to practice using the correct modal at the correct moment for the right reason.
The game is played as followed:
- o Each student must roll the die.
- o Pick a card.
- o Fill in the card with the correct modal.
- o The last student to have the die will take the answer sheet and inform the student if you has the correct answer or not.
- o If correct, he / she may move his / her pawn.
- o If wrong, another students (except the one with the answer sheet) has the chance to steal the die’s moves if he / she answers correctly (this rule is not obligatory. You may choose not to not include it in YOUR game. But it forced each of my students to search for the answer instead of just waiting for their turn. It also forced to person with the die to search deeper for the answer. They were allowed everything, every note to help them)
- o The next student rolls the die and the game continues as such.
