Le Petit Prince Bundle | Étude de texte
This bundle contains two resources that complement each other wonderfully in order to dive deeper in the analysis of…
27,93 € 22,47 €
The main goal of this resource is to enhance the reading comprehension skills of your students, based on a very popular book all around the world, the Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
The total number of pages in this resource is 208 that comes in a zip file that includes:
- one file with colour copy + answer key (104 pages)
- one file with B/W copy + answer key (104 pages)
Based on the reading level of your readers, you may choose how you would like them to use this resource:
- For (highly) advanced readers, you can let them read the book on their own and answer the questions independently chapter by chapter.
- For intermediate-level readers, you can start the book by guided reading (either you read the chapter or you let your students read it out loud, giving a turn to everyone in the class) before answering the questions in this resource (together or individually for the first few chapters). After the reading of each chapter (at least for the first few chapters of the book), it is worthwhile to have a class discussion about the content of a particular chapter before answering the related questions. Reading out loud the first few chapters is a strategy from which everyone in the class could benefit, independently from their reading level.
- For readers facing challenges, you can use scaffolding strategies, such as chunking the text (a chapter), explaining key words prior to reading a chapter, etc. These students might also benefit from working together with intermediate-level and/or advanced readers. (Reading groups could be created in advance with mixed-level readers).
In this resource you will find the following:
- 127 questions in total
- All pages are available in colour and black/white
- Cover page for the student workbook
- Letter to students to introduce the book as well as explain the symbols used for the activities – using the symbols would eventually (could) help all your readers to become self-sufficient in their reading (being able to complete this resource alone or with little help after the first few chapters)
- Questions to enhance comprehension skills (e.g., open ended questions, multiple-choice questions) for each chapter
- Two word search activities
- One maze activity
- Several activities scattered across the resource that enhance vocabulary and grammar skills (e.g., word families, adjectives, adverbs, symbols) – please note that these are only teaser activities and don’t go in detail with a particular topic nor do they explain all the rules (e.g., adjectives) – these activities were created in support of the content in the book.
- Answer key is also included
What to expect from your readers at the end?:
- Students will be able to retell (parts of) the story
- Describe the main and secondary characters and explain what they (could) symbolize
- Make connections to their personal experiences
- Explain meaning in a text
- Define words/expressions in their own words
- Understand (some) intentions of the author (what message does he convey/does he want to convey?)
