- How to teach vowel consonant patterns in the classroom?

- During the phonics stages, children are expected to be able to blend CVCC and CCVC for reading, and well as segmenting them for spelling. These phoneme frames can help children to do both. You could have the children write out the words into the grid, and then practise saying the words. This could also be made into a group activity, where you go around the class asking them to spell and say a word each.
