Engaging and practical LES for grade 1 students to learn vocabulary related to the parts of the body by singing the traditional "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" song*.

This LES includes 6 activities + 1 board game (Snakes and Ladders):

ACTIVITY 1: Let’s sing! Introduce the song. Suggested resources:

ACTIVITY 2: Label the parts of the body. Cut and paste. See annex 1. Play Simon says.

ACTIVITY 3: Dictation 1, listen and color. Introduce the pictures first, and tell Ss to color both pictures.

ACTIVITY 4: Look, read and match. Picture and word association.

ACTIVITY 5: Spot the body part. Cut and paste the body part on the correct word. See annex 2.

ACTIVITY 6: Dictation 2. Circle the correct picture. Activity for assessment purposes.

BOARD GAME: Snakes and Ladders. Consolidate learning by playing! Identify body parts, sing and work out! Four extra body parts: hands, arm, leg and feet.
