French Math Activity – Place Value Task Card Game (Large Numbers)

This engaging and interactive French math activity is perfect for helping students practice reading, writing, and expanding large numbers in French! It includes four different sets of task cards that encourage students to think critically and move around the classroom.

To set up, simply cut out the task cards and place them randomly around the room. Prepare the answer sheets in advance for each student or group. The activity can be completed individually or in teams, depending on your preference.

Students begin with card number 1 and solve the problem on the card to figure out which card comes next. They continue solving problems until they reach card number 10. Each correct answer leads them to the next card, creating a fun and challenging learning experience.

There are four types of cards:

1. Cards with numbers written in digits (e.g., 245,678)
2. Cards with numbers written in words (e.g., deux cent quarante-cinq mille six cent soixante-huit)
3. Cards with expanded form numbers (e.g., 200,000 + 40,000 + 5,000 + 600 + 70 + 8)
4. A final set that mixes all three formats
