Prof du Jour: les questions
The following 21 question cards can be printed on card stock and used in any primary French Immersion or Core French class as part of a ‘Prof du Jour’ routine. Each day, a new ‘Prof’ (star, VIP, chef, leader, etc.) is chosen. The ‘Prof du Jour’ has certain tasks to perform throughout the day (such as bringing the attendance to the office, helping with the calendar, etc.) and they must also answer three randomly selected questions. They may sit on their desk or in the teacher’s chair to answer the questions. Other students will choose a question card, read it aloud, and the ‘Prof du Jour’ will answer it. When used consistently, this is a great assessment for oral communication and gets students using French as a conversational tool in the classroom. They will gain confidence as they practice asking and answering common questions in French.
Also included is a generic marking rubric to assess 'Oral Communication' and 'Speaking to Communicate' with the following criteria: communication, pronunciation, fluent expression, self-correction and volume.
