Creative Project Workbook - Accidental Inventions

Engage and motivate your learners with this creative project booklet that could be an ideal extension activity for a unit on inventions or inventors. However, it can also be used as stand-alone research project. This document contains the description of the project and project guidelines, brainstorming sheet, research notes sheet (2 pages), planning and monitoring one's progress sheet, rough draft (2 pages) and final copy sheets (2 pages), as well as an assessment grid.

I usually use this project assignment in Grade 9 (Secondary 4, Core ESL students in Québec), however, it could be useful for learners below or above this grade level. Please, check out the preview document to make sure this resource is appropriate for your students.

Some preparation is required: printing and making extra copies of some of the worksheets if necessary.

⭐Assessment:

The included rubric has been designed to assess two of the ESL competencies (Québec ESL program): C2 - Reinvests understanding and C3 - Writes and produces texts. However, you might just as well use the part which evaluates only writing skills (content and formulation of the message) if you do not wish to assess reinvestment of understanding.
