Here is a classic activity: the Exquisite Cadaver!.
In this writing activity, your students will work in teams to write a collaborative story. They can work in teams of 6 and if the number doesn’t add up, the first and the last student can be the same one.
Procedure:
-Student 1 starts with all the sheets. He finds the name of the main character and writes the exposition. When he’s done, he writes the name of the main character in the box on the second page. He keeps his page and gives the rest of the sheet to student 2, and so on and so forth.. Student 4 has one more task, which is to write the last event of the climax on page 5 (so the resolution can make “a little” more sense)!
-At the end, the teacher takes all of the pieces together and read the stories to the group! It is always really funny and the students love it!
